An Introduction to Amp Impact

Amp Impact is a powerful and innovative product that is specifically designed for the social sector, and it runs on the Salesforce platform. The goal of Amp Impact is to increase transparency between donors and implementers, while also helping funders understand the impact of their grants. My session program for Salesforce North Africa dreamin 2022

Here are the sessions I will attend and some context about my pitch about Salesforce remote project management?

I just can’t wait for North Africa Dreamin to happen for multiple reasons. The first one is that Apsynergy has many important team members based in Morocco and I will be able to see everyone, sit down, take the time to have a drink, and share a meal with everyone. We meet every morning on google meet, but I enjoy it so much when we can meet, especially doing it in Morocco, one of the special places in the world I always enjoy visiting. It’s not often that I can meet with the people I work with everyday and I am really looking forward to it. Cannot wait to share these special moments with the team and the whole North African Salesforce community. Ohana spirit is really part of the Moroccan legendary culture and hospitality and hopefully we will respect these values by welcoming the ones visiting our booth in a special way, I will not say more (teaser 😉 I am really glad that Salesforce took this initiative as the Salesforce ecosystem in North Africa is really lively and deserved this opportunity to gather up, meet and build the future. The future is a massive net of opportunities for your Salesforce professionals looking to build their career. North Africa represents a massive nearshore employment opportunity, sharing the same time Zone with most European countries. Africa itself is going under very fast development and local companies are also using Salesforce. I believe that Apsynergy can play a role having already 10 year experience running successful projects for global customers using a near shore pool of resources based in North Africa. This is the reason why I have chosen to speak about Salesforce remote project management. I will share organizational tips as well as tools I use on a daily basis to efficiently manage the team, client project and the information flow. Covid has changed the world and we believe that the remote work trend will stay. The reasons are diverse, but the main one is simply that there is a massive demand and now shortage of skilled Salesforce resources and the forecast are all pointing in the same direction. A new study from IDC shows that the salesforce economy will create “9.3 million new jobs and $1.6 trillion in new business revenues worldwide by 2026”

For the last 10 years, Apsynergy has worked with a large number of Salesforce consultants based in Morocco for over 7 years with great success. Working with leading non profit and IT organizations. I will be sharing about Salesforce Remote project management on stage and share with the community and try to answer the question, is setting up and running a 100 % remote Salesforce development team works? You can check Speech schedules here. No time has been announced at the time I am writing this article. Indeed at Apsynergy we have been working remotely way before the Covide disrupted our lives and we will continue to do so and expand. We believe that near shore team recruitment and project management has great advantages, sharing the same time zone and for the French, very often sharing the same language and that makes a massive difference to offshore complex project management. North Africa Dreamin is the perfect event to share about this topic, because so many future Salesforce professionals based in North Africa have been already working remotely, they gained great experience. I believe that the success of remote teams and complex project management is largely dependent on how the team is animated on a daily basis and what tools are used to manage the project and all aspects of being a remote employee. Expectations and overall daily organization has to be different with remote teams on both side, customer and team and this is why properly tooling is so important.

In this post I also would like to share with you what will be my program during the North Africa Dreamin event that will take place in Casablanca on the 22nd October. I will share here the session I want to attend, so you can also make your choice, prepare your day and hopefully we can maybe sit together and have a chat while sharing a delicious Mint Tea ! Actually that is a whole other reason why I am so happy that the first North Africa Dreamin salesforce event is held in morocco ! Yes, the local renowned mint tea of course. I find Moroccan mint tea so delicious, I just can’t stop drinking it when I am in morocco. Very sugary, but this taste is really unique ! I really hope we can share one together.

Talent acquisition is the cornerstone of Apsynergy business and capability to strive. Acquiring and keeping new talents is so important and keeping the engagement high for long is key, so really looking for that session.

We designed this platform for internal purposes and decided to open it to everyone for free so we can continue to onboard more customers and more salesforce consultants in the easiest way possible. The question I’m going to answer today is simple, How do I become a Salesforce Consultant?

To become a Salesforce consultant you need to combine theory with practice. Putting acquired theoretical knowledge into practice allows to solidify these expertises.

For the theoretical part, the best way is to become a certified Salesforce administrator. Indeed, the Salesforce Administrator certification is a prerequisite for many consultant-type certifications, such as Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Non Profit Cloud Consultant or Education Cloud Consultant.

To pass the certification, you can use Focus On Force (a paying site but reasonable in terms of price), but also the official content via Trailhead or Apsynergy Learning, specifically for French-speaking consultants.

Salesforce also maintains the official study curriculum for the certification: the “Exam Guide” whose links are provided in the description. You have one Exam Guide per certification. These guides are the basis of the topics you will need to master for each certification.

For the practical part, you can quickly do some volunteer work for associations that use Salesforce. Salesforce is used by associations to :
manage fundraising (donations/donors)
manage association projects
manage services to beneficiaries.

This is how I started my career as a Salesforce consultant.

Other possibilities to start on the practical side and if it applies to you: apprenticeship, internships or directly a job as a freelancer, in permanent employment and/or remotely.

Practice is a must. Example: Nothing is better than importing, updating or exporting data via this tool to learn how to use dataloader.

Specialization
Once you’ve gained some experience, you’ll need to find your own niche to become a go-to Salesforce expert applied to a given domain.

This won’t stop you from doing more general Salesforce assignments, but when a specific need materializes, your profile will more easily catch the eye of Salesforce customers and partners.

Why become a Salesforce Consultant?

First element of answer: the demand is strong and constantly increasing.

The demand exceeds the supply, it’s simple I am contacted several times a week for 10 years for positions in the Salesforce universe. The demand is high, salaries are competitive and employers are flexible: many opportunities in Remote, Freelance or Permanent. So it’s easy to choose the right work style and get a competitive salary in your job pool.
Competitive remuneration and evolving salaries are the consequence of this high demand.
Over 10 years ago, these reasons led me to Salesforce. Ten years later, demand continues to grow and Salesforce is now deployed on every continent and in every language.

Second element of the answer: the cost and accessibility of training

Innovation at Salesforce doesn’t stop with their technology and the invention of the Software as a Service business model. The Salesforce community is very active, and you’ll find many caring people in the ecosystem. These strong values are reflected in the training tools that are available for free.

The third element of the answer is that the Salesforce model is sustainable. It’s an established technology that continues to expand.

Since its inception, Salesforce has generated virtually unparalleled growth. In 2021, Salesforce will again generate astronomical growth for a company of its size: 24% to reach a record revenue of over $20 billion. 90% of the 500 largest companies (the “Fortune 500”) say they will use Salesforce in 2022, it was 83% in 2017!
I invite you to type in google “salesforce economic performance” to see for yourself. The consequence of this exceptional performance is to have visibility on the years to come and to be able to say with confidence that Salesforce technologies will continue to be strongly used in the years to come and therefore that the demand for qualified resources will continue to be fueled by the many existing customers and the new customers to come.

The last element of the answer I want to address is the sustainability of a Salesforce career, how it will evolve over the long term.

By 2020, Salesforce had already made 62 acquisitions for a total of $49 billion. Each acquisition is reflected in a new integration, a new cloud, new features: Marketing cloud, Salesforce….

Each acquisition represents new opportunities for certification and specialization for a Salesforce professional, who can then evolve his or her career path and specialize in topics that affect them.

Zoom is a video conferencing platform that can be used through a computer desktop or mobile app, and allows users to connect online for video conference meetings, webinars and live chat.

As a salesforce user, you are probably wondering, is there any salesforce and zoom integration available?

Salesforce is already a widely used CRM and marketing platform, with Zoom now being added as an additional integration. With this native integration, users can host Zoom meetings without having to log out of their salesforce platform.. Zoom app is available throught the Salesforce AppExchange and the Zoom Marketplace

Benefits of integrating salesforce with zoom

This integration will allow you to:

Start an instant zoom meeting from an event, lead or contact page.
Synchronize any zoom meeting to salesforce automatically updating records.
automate syncing zoom webinar attendee information and webinar registration.
Feature to connect with google calendar.

Set up Zoom for Salesforce

Below is a list of steps to be followed to install and set up the zoom application in your salesforce instance:

Install App: from AppEXchange click on “Get it Now” and install the App
Configure zoom app in Salesforce: login to zoom web portal as an account administrator and genarate the ” API KEY” and “API secret” that will be used to connect your salesforce instance with zoom.
Set up user access: by default, all users have the permission to use the salesforce connected app, however you can change the default permission to limit access to specific users in your organization.

Salesforce and Zoom Webinars

The Zoom integration automatically creates Salesforce campaigns when you create Zoom webinars, and uses the webinar name as the campaign title.

You can:

View approved, blocked, pending registrants.
Approve or deny registrants.
Add webinar registrants as campaign members.
Create new leads.

You can register attendees by:

Login in into the zoom web portal, schedule a webinar; and sendig the registration link to the attendees
Add contacts and leads to the selected webinar using the Add to webinar button.
